Global Supply and Comprehensive Management of ISCC-Certified UCO

PARA PROVEEDORES Y PRODUCTORES

Purchase, sale, and management of
used cooking oil

At UCO Trading, we manage the purchase, sale, and logistics of used cooking oil (UCO), connecting collectors and large generators with biofuel producers and the industry. We work with ISCC-certified suppliers and verify the sustainability documentation for our operations.
Whether you generate used cooking oil and want to sell it or need a supply of UCO, here’s how we handle it.

Sell Your Used Cooking Oil

We purchase UCO from collectors, waste management companies, and large generators of byproducts—such as the food industry—in regular volumes.
With us, what is currently a highly polluting waste product is transformed into a raw material for producing renewable energy. Every liter we recover prevents uncontrolled disposal and reduces dependence on fossil-based raw materials.
Let us know the type of product, the approximate monthly volume, the location, and whether you have ISCC certification, and we’ll explain how we work.

Collection of Used Cooking Oil

We work to ensure that the product meets the quality and homogenization standards required by the market, collaborating with ISCC-certified suppliers who use filtration and decanting processes to control moisture, impurities, and unsaponifiables (MIU).
We deliver raw materials with analytical parameters suitable for industrial refining and with traceability from origin to delivery at the plant, ensuring a consistent and stable supply.
We manage logistics via road tankers, rail tank cars, flexibags, isotanks, or bulk carriers, depending on the volume and destination.

Aplicaciones

Applications and Uses of UCO

Used cooking oil, once treated and homogenized, becomes a valuable raw material for many industrial sectors, beyond just biodiesel production.

Biodiesel Production

Raw material used in the production of second-generation biofuels.

Derived from resources that do not directly compete with crops grown for human consumption.

HVO (renewable diesel)

Raw material for the production of HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil), a renewable diesel obtained through hydrotreatment, with a composition similar to that of fossil diesel.

It can be used undiluted or as a blend in compatible diesel engines without modifications, which has made it one of the primary uses of UCO.

SAF (sustainable aviation fuel)

Raw material for SAF production via the HEFA process, the most mature technological route available today.

The European ReFuelEU Aviation regulation requires the incorporation of SAF into fuel supplied at EU airports: 2% starting in 2025, 6% in 2030, and up to 70% in 2050. This makes UCO one of the most in-demand feedstocks in the sector.

Plastics and Polymers

Used as a component in the manufacture of plasticizers and bio-based polymers, reducing the use of petroleum derivatives.

Oleochemical Industry

Raw materials for soaps, lubricants, and other oleochemical derivatives, with quick access to sustainability testing and delivery statements.

Asphalt and Pavements

Used as an additive in asphalt mixtures to improve their flexibility and reduce the environmental impact of paving.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the quality of the UCO managed by UCO Trading controlled?

We work with ISCC-certified suppliers and verify key analytical parameters before shipment: moisture, impurities and unsaponifiables (MIU), and free fatty acids (FFA).
In addition, we verify the sustainability documentation for our operations, such as ISCC certification.

What is ISCC certification, and why is it important at UCO?

ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) is a certification system that verifies the sustainability and traceability of raw materials for biofuels throughout the entire supply chain.

In the case of UCO, it allows for the verification of its origin as a waste product and the documentation of every step leading up to the plant—a requirement for biofuel producers to comply with the European Renewable Energy Directive (RED III).

For energy applications (biodiesel, HVO, SAF), we operate under ISCC EU. For non-energy uses, such as oleochemistry or polymers, we operate under ISCC PLUS.

In what formats can the UCO be received or submitted?

Road tankers, rail tank cars, flexibags, isotanks, or bulk carriers, depending on the volume and the customer's logistics requirements.

¿Operáis solo en Europa?

No. We operate in Europe, Latin America, and the United States, with our own organizational structure on both sides of the Atlantic.

In addition to RED III in the European Union, we work with buyers subject to the EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) in the U.S. and California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), each with its own traceability and documentation requirements.

We prepare the documentation required by each market so that the product arrives at its destination ready for regulatory use.

How do I request information about buying or selling UCO?

You can request it using the contact form. Let us know if you want to buy or sell UCO, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
